Remodeling Hints

1) Don't worry about covering doorways into adjoining rooms or protecting floors, our contractor's job to protect your home. Some dust can't be avoided, but we will do all we can to minimize it. If you use another contractor, confirm that they too will do this.
2) Remove breakables and valuables from shelves, pictures and mirrors from walls adjoining the construction area. Expect some rattling to occur during the process.
3) Empty all cabinets and pack everything that won't be needed into boxes. This will keep things dust-free.
4) Keep essential items handy: basic food that can be microwaved, condiments, cereal, microwave-safe dishes and utensils, dishcloths, dish soap, paper plates and cups, coffee, coffee maker and sugar/creamer, paper towels, napkins, and garbage bags.
5) Determine a good location to temporarily set up your refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker along with a table for preparation, for your use during construction.
6) You will be without a sink in the kitchen for a short time. You will need to do dishes in another sink or the bathtub for a while.
7) Our contractors will wait until cabinets have arrived before tearing out your current cabinets. Be sure to clarify this point with your contractor.
8) Stockpile restaurant coupons for the nights when you really want to eat out.
9) Relax and rely on your kitchen professionals. There will be a beautiful kitchen when all the dust is gone!!
